2019 Cantina Mesa "Buio Buio" Riserva Carignano del Sulcis DOC
ABOUT
Mesa Cantina: A name that embodies the essence of this winery. Derived from the Sardinian and Spanish word for dinner table, it represents nourishment, maternal love, simplicity, and the fragrant aromas of the island's earth. This wine is a celebration of Sardinia's beauty and goodness, showcasing the generosity and culture of the island through one of its most cherished treasures: wine.
Buio Buio comes from low‐yielding ungrafted old vines on sandy soils in southwest Sardinia. Buio (boo‐yo) is not only fun to say but translates to ‘darkness’. Buio Buio is an inky dark wine made with 100% Carignano grapes that have been aged in a dark cellar.
This is a fun wine, sure to please both the wine novice, and the wine nerd.
TASTING NOTES
Intense aromas of wild red berry jam and plums. Vibrant acidity and robust tannins lead to a multi‐layered finish.
ENJOY WITH
Old fruit and meaty notes perfectly echo roasted meats. The full body can stand up to any braised dish.
