2020 Kettmeir Metodo Classico "Athesis" Brut Alto Adige DOC
ABOUT
Since 1919, Kettmeir has been at the heart of winemaking in Alto Adige in the northeast corner of Italy. The site’s high elevation creates unique conditions for grape cultivation featuring a range of soil types, aspects, and temperatures. These are the raw materials for exceptional sparkling wines, which Kettmeir has been producing since 1964.
WINEMAKING PROCESS
The three grape varieties are soft-pressed and fermented separately at a controlled temperature. The wine ages on the lees from the first fermentation. Liqueur di tirage is added to the cuvée before secondary fermentation. The wine rests on its lees for an average of 24 months before being disgorged and released.
TASTING NOTES
Bright straw yellow with long-lasting, fine bubbles. Scents of fruit with a well-balanced hint of brioche. Fresh and dry on the palate with excellent flavor persistence and delicious aftertaste of dried fruit.
ENJOY WITH
Light starters, fresh fish and seafood dishes. Excellent as an aperitif but also a joyful companion to a variety of foods.
