2023 Hollis Vineyard Chardonnay

2023 Hollis Vineyard Chardonnay

ABOUT HOLLIS VINEYARD

Like our Wits’ End Vineyard, Hollis Vineyard is located in the Chehalem Mountains AVA, but at a higher elevation, with a mix of volcanic and marine sedimentary soils. Founded in 2013, family-owned Hollis Vineyard soars at 650-950 feet in elevation on south-facing slopes. Produced from LIVE-certified and sustainably farmed Dijon Clone 95 grapes, this wine captures the essence of a cool-climate Chardonnay.

WINEMAKING PROCESS

Handpicked Chardonnay grapes are chilled overnight to 38°F in our cold room to preserve freshness and clarity. The chilled, whole-cluster bunches are gently pressed, and the juice is transferred to tank. After settling, the juice is racked to French oak barrels to complete fermentation. Following primary fermentation, the young wine undergoes malolactic conversion, softening acidity and building complexity. The finished wine ages on its original yeast lees for at least nine months prior to bottling.

2023 VINTAGE NOTES

WINEMAKER'S TASTING NOTES
Greetings of butterscotch and lemon curd aromas are followed by notes of white peach and fresh lemongrass. The palate is soft and creamy, with white stone fruit carrying through the mid-palate. A distinct, intentional acidity brings the finish into focus.
