2024 Santa Margherita Eterna Alto Adige Bianco DOC
ABOUT
Eterna is a blend of Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, and Müller-Thurgau, sourced from carefully chosen vineyards and hand-harvested at peak ripeness to capture their best flavors. The fruit is gently handled to preserve its freshness and purity, allowing bright citrus and orchard fruit notes to shine through. Müller-Thurgau provides delicate floral and herbal nuances, adding aromatic lift and complexity.
WINEMAKING
Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, and Pinot Bianco are immediately soft crushed and pressed, to avoid skin contact, for pure flavors and to avoid extraction of bitter phenolics. Muller-Thurgau grapes are macerated on skins at low temperature, to encourage the floral and herbal notes. Each variety is fermented separately in stainless steel tanks, and kept on fine lees for several months to increase body, complexity, and flavor integration. A select proportion of Chardonnay is fermented and aged in barriques to add richness, depth, and nutty roundness. Blending is performed carefully, to showcase the Alpine elegance, and highlight each variety in a harmonious symphony.
TASTING NOTES
Star-bright and vivid in color, with a medium lemon hue and golden reflections, this wine opens with fresh citrus aromas of grapefruit, lemon, and a hint of bergamot, balanced by ripe pear and a touch of tropical fruit. On the palate, it is smooth and generous, with refreshing herbal notes. The finish is long, offering subtle hints of rosemary and toasted almonds—a beautifully balanced wine.
ENJOY WITH
Fish, seafood, and crustacean-based dishes such as Peruvian ceviche. Also delicious with white meats, duck, and flavorful vegan dishes such as cilantro-mango salad and grilled eggplant.
